Learning new things

Thursday April 1, 2010

Ethan slept in till at 8:30am , he is going to bed very good for us and sleeping through the night, I am sleeping with him in the bed and Martin is on the pull out couch with Laura. He for some reason is afraid of the stroller even though he played with strollers at the orphanage. Whenever he see’s ours he starts to cry, so we spent a lot of time yesterday getting him used to it as we will really need him to sit in it at the airports. He is discovering that there is some good food out there, and is not being as picky as we thought as long as it does not have lumps in it. We are buying baby food for now as it just makes life easier, to make sure he is full we are taking bread and milk heated this is the only way right now he will take milk; He has not refused anything we have given him. He is also drinking apple juice and really likes it, but water he just does not like. Once home it will be much easier to make him food. It’s hard to believe he has not been with us 24 hours yet, but you can see him relaxing and really exploring things in the apartment. It has been a rainy day so we had not gone out, but we needed something in for supper, and Laura wanted to have some time with Daddy so I took Ethan with me to the store for his first walk, he cried as we got him ready as he knew he was going in the stroller, but once outside he stopped, until it stopped moving then he would cry again until we moved. By the time we got to the store he had settled and I was able to pick up the grocery’s we needed. Mother Nature was not good to us though as when we came out it was pouring down, and I had no choice but to push for home as quickly as I could. I took a shopping bag and placed it over Ethan’s legs in the hope to keep him a little dry. He did not cry till we got home and he saw Daddy and wanted out and that was it he let it all out. Poor little boy. He got over it and soon was playing. Again he went to bed without much of a fuss. Oh yes forgot to tell you he said his first English word “Up” we raise our hands up in the air saying up and he copies us.

Love to all

Jenny, Martin, Laura and Ethan
