Well we should have been on a plane today and it is really hard not to think of that. One good thing is my tummy bug had settled down and we decided we would go out for the day.
Our first adventure was to try to find the one and only Ducati Dealer here in Ukraine, then to continue onto Dream Town Mall for some fun for Laura. Lucky both of these places are just one subway stop apart so first it was off to find the Duc dealer. Ethan seems to like the subway and laughs when the train starts moving. We think this is going to be good practice for him on the plane being around all the people and the movement and noise. Once to our first stop we had a very long walk hoping we were heading in the right direction down a 4 lane highway, past the Mazda, Ford, Toyota, Mercedes Dealers and some others as well. It is the most open space we have seen in the city there was even a fly over, but I must tell you there were a lot of people walking down the sidewalks of this road. Martin started to have withdrawl systems as we saw a lot of motor bikes and we had a bunch go by together even for me it sounded good. After a good 30 mins of walking we found the mall where we thought it was. We walked into this tunnel area to see the Ducati Dealer, not a single sign out by the road to tell us it was there. No one was in the showroom, which had a lot of bikes including Laura’s Peg Perago Monster, leathers and Ducati regalia. There was only one women working and when we told her where we were from and that we belonged to the Ducati Club in Canada she seemed mildly interested. She did answer our questions for us and I got some pictures of the inside and outside of the store. We now can say we have been to the dealer in Kiev. I am sure no one else in the club can say this.
It was then the long walk back to the subway and up one more stop to Obolon this is the Dream Town stop. Laura wanted to go ice skating so this is the first thing they did, it cost $12 for 45 mins and Martin says the ice was a little soft but the skates were sharp. Laura really had a lot of fun and Ethan enjoyed watching them skate. Martin did pick Ethan up for one trip around the rink which he just laughed the whole way around. Ethan got his turn at a bit of fun when we put him in a coin operated helicopter that went up and down, again he just started to giggle at it all. Laura then went in a bouncy castle with slide for 30 mins and it only cost $6 and worth every penny to see her happy. Some supper was in order so we went to the food court and found Mc Foxy and had the sloppiest chicken burger ever and only just tasted good, but it filled the spot. By now it was 9:00 and time to head for home with 2 tired children, but it still took us an hour by the subway to do this.
We had a fun day and it was a good test to see if Ethan would sleep for us on the way home, he probably will not as he never slept all afternoon.
Today Sunday we are just sitting around, 2 baths and 2 showers later and laundry being done the day is passing by, and after all the walking yesterday Laura needs down time again. Infact she is down for the count as I type.
Counting the days yet again
