Fun Day

As Laura just put it “I had fun today” Even though the snow had come down and the sidewalks are all covered again we ventured out. This time it was onto the subway east then change trains and head North to Obolon. Here we had been told by Helen and Dave of a shopping mall called “Dream Town” after some searching on the internet we were pretty sure we knew where it was. We came out of the subway and there it was, talk about easy to find, unlike the other day.
What a great place to go, on the first and second floor are shops, I had my hopes up as I had seen on the internet that Marks and Spencer was there but it was only their clothing line and no food. On the third floor though was the fun centre. There was: bowling, air hockey, trampolines, child’s train, children’s ride on coin operated rides, roller blade skating rink, ice rink, bumper cars, miniature golf, bouncy castles, curling rink (2 lanes) food court. Laura thought Christmas had come again. This time she did the trampoline, and we all did the bumper cars. Laura went in a car on her own to start with but was having a some troubles, so one of the men who worked there jumped in with her to help her drive it. Martin and I thought this was so nice. We also had an ice cream at a place called Mc Foxy. Not had ice cream in a month now till today. We also found a really good toy store to look around and they have really different types of toys. As you walked down the mall you had sections were there was coffee places and each one done in a theme, one Hollywood with a big King Kong, Spiderman on a web and Batman hanging from the ceiling, another was a Chinese theme, the lost city of and a jungle theme and this scaled all three floors so you could look down at it. We spent over 3 hours there and had a really fun time. If any of you are interested you can see a few pictures at the web site http://www.dreamtown.kiev.ua/ .

We also met a couple that is from Ukraine but had been living in Minnesota for 10 years, but their green card ran out. We have exchanged phone #’s with them.

The one thing was we had forgotten to take the cameras with us, so we have no pictures to share with you. We are hoping to go again and next time we will not forget the camera.

Take care

Jennifer, Martin and Laura

As a side note we have now gone to 8 different subway stations. We are really proud of ourselves.
