Our apartment building
The Subway
Well another sunny day today and out we went for a walk again to St-Andrews this time with success of buying gifts. Yesterday it got too cold to finish so we did it today in the sun. Then it was back to the apartment for a bit of lunch, then off out again to go shopping with Dave and Helen our new friends to help purchase birthday supplies and a birthday cake as their son Oscar turns 3 tomorrow. Happy Birthday Oscar. This was a very long walk as we went to a new store that is much bigger grocery store than any near us or them. In total we must have walked 4 kms there and 2kms home. This is near where we may be moving to, so gave us a great opportunity to see that side of town. We were lucky to find a transformer to convert from 220volts to 110volts so that we can charge Laura's Nintendo DS. This was the one thing we did not look at to make sure it would work. So now the saving grace device will continue to work, and Mummy and Daddy will not get any more grey hair. We decided to take the subway home or at least to near Dave and Helen's place, and what an experience. The escalator ride down took us at least 3-4 mins oh ya I forgot to mention this was in rush hour. Talk about hold on to Laura tight or she would be bowled over by people, once on the train it took off like a bullet and I just about fell over as I was not expecting it to move so fast and I was holding on to Laura. The city is very hilly so some of the subways are really deep underground. This is truly an experience to be had and glad we have done it. It cost for all 3 of us $0.48 to go any were in the city. I was pleased about taking this as my feet were really hurting and I am not sure Laura would have made it up the big hills.
Thanks to Dave and Helen for helping us navigate this new experience.
So we had a very busy day and Martin was good enough to cook supper and do the dishes tonight as poor me had very sore feet. Martin took one of the large water bottles and cut out the side, filled it with water so my foot would fit in and soak. Thanks dear.
We will get a picture of this next time I use it.
Look forward to hearing from some of you and hope you are enjoying our journey.
